Fantastic, after nearly 8 years out of the loop due to sons footie, it looks like i`ve found the place i want to be. My old club Mid Essex ac seems to have joined forces as i`ve seen some old faces on the books. Adrian,Dave and Robin you might remeber me from when i was on the committee at mid essex And it looks like my old haunt at Roxwell is still going strong, could`nt keep away from the place back then. It looks like you`ve got some real nice waters and i look forward to possibly wetting a line in one or two of them soon.

Thanks very much to the kind gentleman who lent my son and I a landing net today. Saved a cancelled fishing session.

Hi all, went to twitty fee for the 2nd time on saturday just gone. I thought i was just lucky the 1st time round but no they were as greedy as ever!!! Started off with soft floaters, caught a few nice size carp, 5-10lb.Commons, mirror and a ghost. Moved on to some crusty bread which attracted the ducks as well as the carp so moved on to the tried and trusted dog biscuit which got them even more fired up!!! Stayed there from 10am-5pm and had a great day. Hoping to join this year if theres room for me...if not then i will have to keep going with my friend who is a member......lucky bugger!!!

Hello all. Thinking of joing your club, well, going on the waiting list. Just wondering if many of you fish at mill lane. I used to fish the pool when I was younger, and want to give it another go. How does it fish, are there still good size chub there?. All the other lakes look very inviting too, small but I like this. Thanks, Alex.

I fished this small lake on Sat 24th Jan 09. Most of the water was frozen over during the morning with a thaw occurring around 1.30pm. I fished the first swim opposite the road. Being under an overhanging tree - it remained 'ice free'. This venue responds well to feeding little but often and the crucian carp obliged by taking red maggot, float fished two inches over depth - two rod lengths out. As they are so delicate with the bite pin the bait to the bottom, shot the float to a 'dot' and strike at any movement. No sign of the roach or rudd? Once the surface warms up you can usually spot them cruising or 'topping out'. Fishing light and shallow - with single caster, maggot or bread punch - usually catches them. Sometimes, when the water is clear, casting out to the middle/fare bank pays off. I had two good perch late on. One took double maggot, the other a lob worm’s tail. I have seen some BIG carp in this lake but never fished for them. Perhaps larger bait 'popped up' off bottom - may sort them out? Best of luck. Peter Yates

I have fished Twitty top 3 times and it seams to be full of suidsidial Carp fighting over bait. Foulhooked fish being hard to avoid, looks like a popular match water (big bags) going by this web site.

As a new member I tried Twitty Fee top lake for the first time last Monday 30 June. Fished between 1pm to 5pm and caught more than 50 fish including 15 carp between 3 and 10lb. I estimate total catch weighed in the region of 60lb. It all seemed too easy - surely it's not like this all the time?

Living a stones throw from Marl pit, it may be my venue of choice for a quick few hours after work, being a new member i would like to know if anyone has any input as to the best baits for the water and their best catches, any input would be greatly appreciated.

What is the largest carp caught? I recently caught a 12 and a half, a 16 and a half and an 18 in the same session.
